FAQ

How much does it cost?

For $10 deposit a box with your old lithium-ion batteries and electronics.

Why does it cost?

We use the money to cover the cost of our operations which includes software development, pick-up services, and material management. We build for local communities with a focus on self-sustainability and long-term efficiency. If you would like to help support our team, please contact us

How does the reward work?

If we are able to sell an item - through reuse or recycling - we pool the proceeds and distribute a portion back to the depositor.

What type of stuff are people recycling?

Rechargeable batteries, a broken computer, a functional computer, a camera, an old iPhone, an older iPad... you get the idea, we'll take pretty much anything with a battery as long as it's dry.

How do you recycle things correctly?

To most folks, recycling is a catch-all word for not putting stuff in an incinerator or a landfill. But to us, we will always try to re-use or repair anything you deposit. If we can't, we work with vendors who specialize in recycling specific materials to get them back in the system accordingly.

How do I monitor the status of my deposit?

We will follow-up with an email on the Thursday evening prior to the Saturday we pick-up. After we receive your deposit, we will tag the inventory to your information. Once the deposited objects have been processed - through a transaction, recycling facility, or reuse program - we will inform you of the data related to the disposal such as environmental impact, time in limbo (i.e. some products may sit in storage as we determine the proper disposal of them), and earnings from materials.

What's the size of the box?

If you're a numbers person think about what can fit in this volume: 18” x 12” x 12”. For the rest of us, it's about what would fit inside a medium Amazon box or a Fresh Direct bag. Any container will do!
